Five Nights at Wario's 2 takes place shortly after FNAW 1, immediately after FNAW 4, and an unknown amount of time before FNAW 3. After the events of 4, in which Richard McRoy has nightmares and becomes possessed by Luigi in the wake of his horrifying nightshifts at the reopned (and subsequently re-closed) Wario's Fast Food Factory, the fully possessed Richard has taken up the job as a phone instructor at WarioWare, Inc, a recently reopened video game company operated by those who attempted to unsuccessfully open the Fast Food Factory again. One cold October evening, a man walks towards his new job. As he walks to Wario Ware Inc., he feels a cold breeze in his face. Unaware of what awaits him, he enters the building that soon would make his nightmare a reality. Working the nightshifts a person for "Richard" to call every night is Thomas Taylor, a young man who has no idea of the ghostly horrors he will face inside of the ruined halls of this once-great company. However, at the same time, Luigi, inhabiting the body of Richard, over the nights, decides to play a little "game" with Thomas, locking him inside the building over the course of multiple days. Fortunately for Thomas, on his final work night, his screams (due to the spirits of those haunting the building) alert nearby people living around the area to call the police. On the morning of his final day, Thomas safely escapes the building while the cops are now on the hunt for Richard McRoy, still possessed by Luigi. And so, the story continues...
