And later the same night Mario and Luigi, they went into the factory to look for them, but the thing is, they never came out either...

Phone Guy, Night 3

Mario is the one of the antagonists of the Five Nights at Wario's series, and the third most recurring character. In search of Wario and Waluigi, along with his brother Luigi, after their disappearance in their fast food factory, they were killed and came back as vengeful spirits, now haunting the player who they believe is responsible for their deaths.

Physical Appearance[]

Mario essentially looks like the titular character from the Super Mario games. However, he has no visible head, with his mustache, cap, and white glowing eyes floating around where his face is supposed to be. He pretty much barely changes throughout the series.

In the first game, Mario's hair is visible, his eyes have a pixel-y like shape, and he has cracks on his body.

In the second game and the third game, the cracks on Mario's body and his hair have vanished, although he seems to have it in his jumpscare.

In Origins, Mario loses the pixel-y effect on his glowing eyes and he appears to have his hair again.

In the fourth game, Mario retains his design from Origins, except that he lacks his hair.

In the Director's Cut, Mario has his appearance from the fourth game, except he now has dried blood on his clothes near the neck area, his clothes covered in dust, and his eyes have a slight shiny texture.

Five Nights at Wario's[]

Mario becomes active at Night 4 and onward. He will approach the player through the computer on the office desk.

Mario moves step by step through 4 phases on random monitor pull ups. He initially appears small on the desk monitor, until his face fills up the screen at which it will flicker. After one or two monitor pull ups, Mario will appear in the Office. The lights in the room will flicker to indicate his presence. At this point, the player must pull up and back down the monitor before Mario jumpscares the player. When fended off, Mario will disappear from the room, and will repeat his cycle.

It's worth noting that Mario will still progress through his steps even if the player doesn't pull up the monitor for a long period of time, albeit his transition isn't shown. This can make Mario seem able to move straight from his first phase to the Office.

The player can know how close Mario is by the volume of his music.

Five Nights at Wario's 2[]

Mario returns in Five Nights at Wario's 2. He makes his first appearance at Night 2, where he can be seen in the Machinery. From Night 3 and onwards, he will start to appear in the Backroom, and will attack the player if they hide within for too long.

He truly becomes active at Night 5 and onwards. Much like the previous game, Mario will be in the Office and will move through 3 phases — appearing distant at first, then closer — before standing in front of the player with flickering lights. The player must quickly hide in the Backroom to fend him off and makes him repeat his cycle.

In Classic Mode, he behaves the same like in his appearance in the first game.

The player can know how close mario is by the volume of his music.

Five Nights at Wario's 3[]

Mario returns in Five Nights at Wario's 3. He makes his possible appearance at Night 4.

'Night 4'[]

Laundry[]

Mario starts in the Bedroom. He then goes to Living Room 2, and the Staircase, before eventually attacking the player. To keep him away, the player must turn the washing machine on as much as possible. He will never go back a room.

Hallway[]

Mario starts in the Playroom. He then enters Bedroom 2, before eventually reaching the player's current location from the right path and attacking them. The player must listen carefully to his music box and, when it is heard in Bedroom 2, block the right path. Mario will usually be the first enemy to be active. If Mario manages to get past you, there is a chance that he will appear in your room in the right doorway and slide out. If this happens, close that door immediately, as he is about to attack the player if this happens.

Playroom[]
Mario appears on the room's television screen. He moves through 4 phases before standing in the room. The player must quickly pull up the monitor to make him go away.

Five Nights at Wario's: Origins[]

Mario (also known as Mario Spirit) makes his fourth appearance in Five Nights at Wario's: Origins. He becomes active at Night 5.

Mario appears on the Basement camera. He will slowly approach the camera when the player is not looking at him, before eventually reaching the player, causing a game over. The player must check on him frequently to keep him away. Mario will also kill the player if they enter the Basement.

Five Nights at Wario's 4[]

Mario makes his fifth appearance in Five Nights at Wario's 4. He becomes active at Night 2. Mario will approach the player through the darkness instead of any of the 6 channels. He will move through 3 stages as the tv is on or if the player turns the tv back on. The player must go to the radio in order to scare Mario off.

On Week 2, he will start appearing on Night 4 on Channel 3 and he breaks the remote when present. The player will have to fix the remote and quickly leave the channel fast before Mario attacks the player.

Five Shows at Wario's[]

Mario makes his sixth and final appearance in Five Shows at Wario's Director's Cut, being playable in the Final Show and Colosseum of the First and as an enemy in The Factory.

The Factory[]

Office[]

Exclusive to Classic Mode of The Factory, Mario appears on Day 4, he functions the same way he does in FNaW1, as long as you have the camera up, he will slowly move out of the computer in your Office, when he's in your Office, he will shake aggressively and the room will darken, pull the monitor up again to repel him.

Bathrooms[]

Using the scanner on the cameras, you must scan the rooms that Mario goes through to track him down, Mario starts in the Control Room, then moves to the Office, to the Office Exit before arriving in the Bathroom, once he's in the bathroom, flash the room to repel Mario, he cannot be seen on the cameras, however, he will always be heard by an audio cue. Mario is slightly faster than Wario, so he will most likely attack first.

Crossroads[]

Mario does not directly attack you in this room, rather appearing in two Microgames.

1. Don't Move!: Mario will stare at the player in this Microgame, all they have to do is not move their mouse.

2. React Fast!: In this Microgame based off of FNAW, Mario will rapidly move out from the computer in the office, once he is in the office, pull up the monitor to defend against him and complete the Microgame.

Corridor[]

Mario is the only threat whilst hiding in the Corridor, as explained by the Phone Guy, Mario wants to play a game of Hide and Seek with you, Mario starts in the Cellar, but he won't stick in there for long. He will constantly be moving to four locations, the Cellar, Entrance 2, Machinery, and the Corridor, which he can enter from either Entrance 2 (Around the corner) or the Machinery (Behind you). Track Mario with the cameras, he will have a sound cue every time he moves, after a bit of time, the power will go out and Mario will stop moving, you will then need to shock the room Mario is in within ten seconds. If you cannot find Mario within the allotted time, he will jumpscare you.

Machinery[]

Mario starts in the Office, and will not move as long as there's no sound coming from the generator in the Machinery. If there is, he will then go to the Office Exit, then to the Bathrooms before arriving in the Machinery, once he's in the Machinery, flash the hallway to make him leave otherwise he'll jump-scare you if you don't flash him in time.

Entrance[]

Mario will slowly be corrupting the cameras with dark veins trying to escape from the camera monitor. To prevent this, stare him down on the cameras, Mario will start in the Office but will jump to a completely random camera.

Cellar[]

Mario is slowly invading both the Cellar and Office perspectives, to stop Mario, you must charge a power battery to then send it to the Office to put in the computer to stop Mario, thus resetting his progress. Failure to do so will result in him jump scaring you.

Final Show/Colosseum of the First[]

Mario is unlocked as a playable character for the Final Show and Colosseum of the First by getting the achievement "Stop Demon W", Mario can't jump high, but has a double jump and has fewer invincibility frames than the other characters.
